The 2020 Ford Figo BS6 is now in the market. Along with it are the Aspire as well as Freestyle. The Ford Figo BS6 price in India is Rs 5.39 lakh, ex-showroom. At the same time, the Ford Freestyle BS6 price in India starts from Rs 5.89 lakh whereas the Aspire BS6 price is Rs 5.99 lakh. True to its commitment, Ford hasn’t raised prices. In fact, the top-spec trims of the petrol and diesel Aspire have seen a price tag revision. The petrol Aspire Titanium+ is now for Rs 7.44 lakh when compared to the BS4 price of Rs 7.82 lakh. At the same time, the BS6 diesel price has gone down by Rs 32,000. There is also a diesel for the taxi segment, a base version that goes for Rs 7.07 lakh. A similar revision, though smaller, can be observed for the Freestyle too. Bookings have started across India.
That’s great. What else is new in the Ford Figo BS6?
Ford is offering a three year, one lakh kilometre warranty as standard on all its BS6 cars. All the vehicles will have a 10,000km service interval. At the same time, all these vehicles will also come with the FordPass connected car solution. This will ensure that the vehicles stay connected with the owner even if he/she isn’t in the vehicle, through a smartphone.
There has been no rejigging of variants too. Same is the case with the engines. They haven’t lost out on power or torque either, in the BS6 conversion. The 1.5-litre turbo diesel makes 100PS of power while the torque generated is 215Nm. The new petrol engine introduced a couple of years ago, naturally aspirated, produces 96PS of power and 119Nm. Both these engines can be ordered with a 5-speed manual.
The lovely thing about Ford is that prices have more or less stayed the same with all its BS6 offerings. This is unheard of in our country so far. At the very same time, Ford India has ensured that it has also added more features to the vehicles. This value for money proposition should help boost sales to a great extent. It also pays that the engines are nearly the same in power. Economy hasn’t been accounted for but we assume it could be a shade lower as Ford hasn’t shared it yet.
