Datsun India has been quiet for sometime. However, the Japanese carmaker which falls under the Nissan umbrella will soon be launching its first facelifted product. The Datsun Go and Go+ facelifts can now be booked at a nearest dealership for Rs 11,000. Both the cars will go on sale from October 10, 2018. Deliveries will begin soon thereafter. The Go was Datsun’s first product after the brand was resurrected in 2013. The Datsun line up of cars in India include the redi-Go, Go and Go+. The Go Cross is expected to join the line up pretty soon as well.
What’s new in the facelifted Datsun Go and Go+?
The grille of the Datsun Go and subsequently the Go+ gets a new frame. There is also the slight redesign for the headlamps and there are LED DRLs near the fog light enclosure. 14-inch diamond cut alloys wheels too will be on offer on the top trims. At the rear, things have been slightly spiced up with the inclusion of new bumpers. There are also two new paint schemes – Sunstone Brown and Amber Orange.
In the cabin, there is new upholstery, the handbrake has moved from its umbrella position to the conventional manner and there is a touchscreen infotainment system. This 7.0-inch touchscreen system boasts first in class Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There is a manual airconditioner and the steering wheel too is new. In all, the dashboard design as well as the instrument cluster too are new.
Safety features in the new Datsun Go and Go+?
There are many safety features. Dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, follow me home lights and driver seat belt reminder are now standard. This should definitely improve the not-so impressive crash test ratings of the Datsun Go and Go+ facelifts. There will be a slight price increase but hey, who minds paying a tad extra for a secure driving experience?
