Royal Enfield has rolled out a “Service on Wheels” initiative that focuses on providing basic servicing of bikes at customers’ doorstep. This initiative falls in line with the government’s effort to curb the spread of coronavirus. The Royal Enfield Service On Wheels campaign consists of about 800 mobile service-ready motorcycles. These have been deployed across the country through the Royal Enfield dealerships. RE first started this initiative closer to their plant and thereafter now the other parts of country get it. Reportedly, customers down south have appreciated this initiative and lauded RE for bringing this out. RE COO, Lalit Malik said that while last year 60 Studio Stores were launched, 2020 will be about servicing. So how does this all function? Read on.

What is Royal Enfield Service on Wheels?

Under this initiative, the customer can contact the nearest dealership to book a service and a technician will come to your doorstep. He will be carrying all the necessary small tools and equipment. Each unit is capable of fulfilling around 80 per cent of all typical service requirements. This includes scheduled maintenance service, minor repairs, critical component testing, parts replacement, electrical diagnosis, and more. Technicians will adhere to all safety guidelines like use of sanitisers, masks and maintaining social distancing while working on your Royal Enfield motorcycles. Engine oil, filters, other lubes will be ready with them.

This campaign will help those bikes that may have some starting trouble during the lockdown. A mechanic at the doorstep solves the problem of starting the bike and taking it to the service station and it also reduces the risk of contracting the virus. A fleet of 26 Royal Enfield ‘Service on Wheels’ motorcycles are there in Mumbai. A total of 92 across all authorised dealership outlets in Maharashtra are running.

In addition, the company also has introduced Contactless Purchase and Service Experience. This initiative enables the customer to take easy home test rides and access e-payment options for a purchase. It also offers pick-up and drop facility along with servicing of your Royal Enfield motorcycle. The company has also introduced three attractive ownership packages for easy and burden-free ownership of a product. Customers can opt for an additional two-year extended warranty or 20,000 km, over and above the regular coverage.
