Toyota India has launched a new trim of its popular MPV, the Innova Crysta. The Toyota Innova Crysta G Plus is now the base trim and sits below the GX. The Toyota Innova Crysta G Plus price in India is Rs 15.57 lakh for the 7-seater trim while the 8-seater retails for Rs 5,000 more, ex-Mumbai. It is interesting to note that the G plus is a made-to-order trim while the GX is available for both fleet as well as private usage.
What does the Toyota Innova Crysta G Plus get in terms of features?
The Toyota Innova Crysta G Plus gets lesser features than the GX. It costs Rs 38,000 less than the GX. For that money, you lose a rear defogger, music system as well as the rear armrest in the second row. However, one does get three airbags, ABS with EBD, three row AC vents, halogen headlights, 16-inch alloys as well as a rear spoiler. One cannot order the G Plus in the pearl white (charged an additional Rs 15,000 for regular trims) as well as red colours.
The G Plus also gets the 2.4-litre diesel engine option. This engine is a turbo unit and makes 150PS of power and 343Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual transmission is available as the only option for this trim. If you want a more affordable Innova, then there is also the 2.7-litre petrol engine on offer. This engine makes 166PS/245Nm and is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. Prices for the Innova petrol start from Rs 14.83 lakh, ex-Mumbai.
The recent introduction of the 2019 Tata Hexa must have got Toyota a tad worried. The Hexa has been taking away a chunk of the Toyota’s sales. However, credit must be given that inspite of being the higher priced offering of the two, the Innova Crysta still is ahead of the Tata in sales numbers. In fact, it is the bread and butter model for Toyota India.
