Honda Car India Limited gave us a glimpse of the updated Jazz on their website. The company had also released a statement that the launch of this car was delayed due to the pandemic. With HCIL sending out a release today, we are assured that the wait will not be long. The BS6 Honda Jazz bookings have begun. One can now book this hatchback for Rs 21,000 across all authorised HCIL dealerships in India. A prospect can also book this car online for just Rs 5,000 at HCIL website. The updated car is expected to be launched later this month. There could be four variants on offer – two for manual and two automatic. Speaking of variants, Honda will have the new Jazz only with a lone petrol motor. The diesel has been given the skip due to low demand in this segment.
What are the new features of the BS6 Honda Jazz?
The BS6 Honda Jazz is the same car underneath as the now-discontinued model. However, Honda has added new bumpers at the front and rear. There are also new LED array headlights, DRLs, and tail lamps. Honda has also given the car a sunroof – segment-first. This electrically operated sunroof has a one-touch operation. In the cabin, there is new upholstery, flat folding seats, 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control and automatic climate control. There may or might not be connected car technology.
The Jazz was one of the most spacious sub-4m hatchbacks one could buy. With this update, the car has not only become cleaner for the environment but also feature-rich. The engine option for the new BS6 Honda Jazz will be the 1.2-litre petrol. This engine produces 90PS/110Nm and will be mated to a 5-speed manual or CVT. The latter brings along with it segment-first paddle shifters behind the wheel.
We expected the Honda Jazz BS6 price in India to start from Rs 6.4 lakh and going up to Rs 8.20 lakh, ex-showroom. Expect dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, speed limiter as standard.
