Jawa Motorcycles showed off three bikes at the unveil event. While you have read about the Jawa and Jawa 42 models, the third one is a custom motorcycle. Jawa Motorcycles claims that this is the first factory built custom motorcycle in India. The Jawa Perak price in India is Rs 1.89 lakh, ex-showroom. Bookings will begin in a couple of months while deliveries will be fulfilled a few days later.
What’s new in the Jawa Perak?
Unlike the other two motorcycles showcased by Jawa, this one doesn’t have the same chassis. It has a longer swing arm. Pirelli SportComp tyres have been used on both ends. These tyres rest on spoked wheels. The Jawa Perak also boasts disc brakes on both the wheels. This in turn also ensures that dual channel ABS has been provided for.
The Jawa Perak engine too is different from the other motorcycles. While the bore remains the same, the stroke has been changed. This has also ensured that swept volume goes up by 34cc. The 334cc single cylinder liquid cooled four-stroke motor makes 30PS of power and 31Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox.
In terms of design, the Jawa Perak looks like one of the Bobber machines on offer in India. It has a single seat while the tail light is positioned right behind the seat. The valanced fenders look neat as well. As was the case with the other motorcycles, even this one has a simple instrument cluster that will display the fuel, speedometer and twin trip meters. The Jawa Perak also has dual exhaust ports. However, these are more of custom built units.
In terms of competition, the Jawa Perak competes with the Triumph Bobber as well as the Indian Scout Bobber. However these motorcycles are priced much higher and have more power as well. Essentially, you get a factory-made custom bike and with full manufacturer warranty as well. The bike is also built at the Pithampur facility in Madhya Pradesh.
