BMW R 1250 GS launched in India at Rs 16.85 lakh

BMW Motorrad India has launched the R 1250 GS at a starting price of Rs 16.85 lakh, ex-showroom. The BMW R 1250 GS has got four variants in all. While the price for the Standard is Rs 16.85 lakh, the Pro version costs Rs 20.05 lakh, the Adventure Standard is priced at Rs 18.25 lakh and the Adventure Pro at Rs 21.95 lakh. The motorcycles come in through the CBU route and are available across all BMW Motorrad showrooms in India now.

What’s new in the BMW R 1250 GS?

While the motorcycles more or less look the same as before, there are new colour schemes on offer. Moreover, the primary difference between the BMW R 1250 GS and Adventure versions is the availability of equipment. Both feature spoked wheels though. An updated engine too is part of the deal. The 1254cc twin cylinder Boxer engine now makes 136PS and 143Nm. The engine is mated to an updated slipper clutch that makes pulling in the lever much easier.  BMW has also put in new cylinder heads and more. Variable Camshaft technology too makes its way here and is claimed to improve rideability and control over the motorcycle much better at all speeds.

The suspension too is semi-active and comes as standard. A 6.5-inch colour TFT instrument cluster too is  available and depending on the model selected, will bring in tyre pressure monitoring system as well.
