BMW India first introduced its BS-VI product a few months ago with the X7 and 7 Series. The brand has now announced now that its entire portfolio has now moved to BS-VI. BMW is the first brand in India to have its entire petrol range in BS-VI while the diesels are expected to follow soon. The company says that its diesel portfolio will be BS-VI before the stipulated deadline. The price hike will be in the range of 6 per cent. This is the most cost effective considering that others are charging more than 8-10 per cent.
Anything else I should know about BMW India BS-VI products?
Well, the fact that both diesels as well as petrols will move to the BS-VI transition pretty smoothly, is nice to know. BMW India has now started producing the 5 Series as well a 6 Series Gran Turismo diesels. These products are expected to hit the market from January 2020. Currently, if one wants to buy a BMW India BS-IV product, then the company will be happy to provide attractive ownership packages. In short, discounts.
To quell fears, a BS-IV car will work perfectly fine with BS-VI fuel. Moreover, BS-VI fuel is now available across fuel stations in Delhi and surrounding areas. IOCL recently announced its new BS-VI Ladakh-grade diesel.
Rudratej Singh, president and chief executive officer, BMW Group India said, “2019 has been exciting for us as our new product portfolio has triggered remarkable traction in the luxury car market. Early start of BS VI production is a strategic call we are taking to meet the unprecedented demand for our new products. Today, BMW India customers have the choice of buying a BS VI car across the entire product portfolio. The present BMW range is extremely attractive because of its unique position with latest products, newest technology as well as superbly attractive ownership packages on limited stocks of BS IV variants.”
