BMW Motorrad India has been launching one new product after another. After having introduced the entry-level BMW G 310R and the G 310 GS, the company has now launched two new motorcycles. The BMW F750 GS is priced at Rs 11.95 lakh while the F850 GS is for Rs 12.95 lakh, ex-showroom pan India. These motorcycles come in via the CBU route and can be booked now at a BMW Motorrad dealership in India. Deliveries are likely to begin in the next couple of months.
What’s the deal with the BMW F750 GS and F850 GS?
These are again not hardcore adventure motorcycles and are more in tune with bikes like the Kawasaki Versys 650. The Ducati Multistrada 950, Tiger 800 and the upcoming Suzuki VStrom 650 too is a competitor. Styling as can be expected, is from the bigger R 1200 GS motorcycle while hardware is slightly toned down. Both the engines have a common 853cc engine that is a new addition to the range. This motor makes varying power depending on the motorcycle it is used in.
In the BMW F750 GS, the engine produces 77PS/83Nm while in the F850 GS, it makes slightly higher numbers at 85PS/92Nm. The transmission is a 6-speed unit and has got a slipper clutch. Various riding modes like Road, Rain, Enduro and Dynamic are offered with these adventure tourers.
BMW offers these motorcycles with upside down front forks and a monoshock at the back. There are three additional variants to each motorcycle here – Pro, Standard and Pro Low Suspension. LED headlights, DRLs, cruise control, ASC and ABS are offered with each of these variants. Depending on the trim, cornering ABS, traction control, semi-active suspension too are part of the package.
In terms of pricing, the other variants are priced at BMW F 750 GS Pro Low Suspension Rs 13.2 lakh, BMW F 750 GS Pro at Rs 13.4 lakh, BMW F 850 GS Pro Low Suspension Rs 14.2 lakh and Rs 14.40 lakh for the BMW F 850 GS Pro.
