BMW India has launched the 6 Series GT with a diesel engine and in two trims. The BMW 6 Series GT 630d Luxury Line is priced at Rs 66.50 lakh while the 630d M Sport is priced at Rs 73.70 lah, ex- showroom, pan-India. The BMW 6 Series GT is an all-new proposition created by the German car maker. The petrol trim was launched earlier this year in Luxury Line trim for Rs 61.8 lakh. The upholstery changes that you will see in the 6GT diesel will be available on the petrol starting July 2018. Five colour options are available for the 630d Luxury Line while for the M Sport, there are two.
The BMW 6 Series GT diesel has a 6-cylinder, 3.0-litre turbo-ed motor that makes 268PS and 620Nm. Power is sent to the rear wheel through an 8-speed automatic transmission. This helps propel the 6GT diesel to 100kmph from standstill in just 6.1s. Coupe-like roofline, frameless doors and automatic opening tailgate are all part of the allure of the 6 Series GT. While extensive use of chrome has been made in the 6 Series Luxury Line, the M Sport distinguishes itself by use of an aerodynamics package, air breathers finished in black, larger air intakes, M alloy wheels and M insignia on the car. The interior trim differs in the car based on the leather upholstery used. BMW has put in the soft door close function on the 630d GT M Sport. Other features include the Parking Assistant from the 5/7 Series, Surround view camera and wireless charging.
BMW has used air suspension for the 6 Series GT diesel and the shock absorbers are automatically raised or lowered depending on the mode selected.
