BMW India has launched the 2018 320d GT Sport trim for Rs 46.60 lakh. This trim of the BMW 3 GT sits below the Luxury Line and the 330i M Sport which are priced at Rs 49.5 lakh and Rs 51.2 lakh respectively, ex-showroom pan India. A few features have been deleted to ensure a better entry price for the 3 Series GT, which practically has no competition in India.
As is the norm with lower specced BMW cars, the chrome grille gets black inserts instead of the chrome in the Luxury Line. The tail pipes too have a black cover and the alloy wheels though 18-inch have a different pattern to them. One can order the BMW 320d GT Sport in two colours – Imperial Blue, Alpine White and Black Sapphire. While a beige upholstery is standard, one can also spec their 3 GT Sport with a black-beige or black-red combination too.
In the features section, BMW India has deleted the 10.5-inch colour instrument console display and have a got a simpler unit in its place. Also gone is the high beam assistance that detects an oncoming vehicle and automatically dips the high beam. Other features like the panoramic sunroof, iDrive system, multiple modes for the engine, powered front seats, rear AC vents and front as well as rear parking sensors.
The engine is a 2.0-litre diesel turbo unit that makes 190PS of power and 400Nm of torque. A 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters behind the steering wheel, sends power to the rear wheels. BMW also offers Launch Control as standard with the 320d GT Sport. 0-100kmph can be achieved in 7.7s while the top speed is expected to be an electronically limited 230kmph.
Safety kit here hasn’t been compromised with six airbags, traction control, cornering brake control, ESP, dynamic stability control as well as ABS with EBD available.
