Benelli India is on a roll. We have said this before. Ensuring that you have enough products and then the service support for the same is the key to success. Benelli seems to be putting the former on the boil. It has launched more than five all-new products this year. The latest is the Benelli Imperiale 400. The Benelli Imperiale 400 price in India is Rs 1.69 lakh, ex-showroom. Benelli claims to have received around 500 bookings while deliveries will happen in the first week of November. The Imperiale 400 colours in India red, silver and black. Benelli is offering a three years/unlimited kilometres warranty on the Imperiale 400. Two years free service too is being offered. An annual maintenance contract too is on offer for customers post the free service period.
The Imperiale 400 gets an all new SOHC, single-cylinder, four-stroke, air-cooled BS4 engine with electronic fuel injection. The maximum power produced is 21PS @ 5500rpm, with a torque output of 29Nm @ 4500rpm. These numbers are higher than its competition – Royal Enfield Classic 350. USP of this motorcycle is the vibe-free nature of its powertrain, something which is aimed squarely at the RE. Jawa users too have said that the powertrain of their motorcycle is better than the RE 350. On the same line, there are telescopic forks, a pre-load adjustable dual shockers at the back as well as disc brakes at both ends. These are linked by dual channel ABS.
