If you have been seeing one company in the news these days, more often than not it has to be Bajaj Auto. The Pune-based company has been steadily increasing the price of its products in the Indian market in the last 1-2 weeks. Now, Bajaj Auto has introduced a new Volcanic Red paint scheme on its flagship Pulsar model. The Bajaj Pulsar 220F volcanic red price in India is Rs 1.07 lakh, ex-showroom, the same as the other colour options. The motorcycle is already in the showrooms with ready delivery being promised.
Anything new in the Bajaj Pulsar 220F volcanic red?
Apart from the colour, nothing else. In fact, this colour is right from the 2006 model, the first Pulsar 220Fi that was introduced in India. This colour co-exists with the black-blue as well as the red-black. Bajaj has also added black semi-stripes on the front mud-guard for added effect. The mechanicals remains the same and the 220F comes with a single channel ABS with disc brakes on both ends. The meter console is semi-digital and hosts a lot of information. Bajaj has also given this decade-old motorcycle a projector headlight.
What’s likeable is the punchy 220cc, oil-cooled, single cylinder, BS-IV engine. This motor makes 21PS of power and 18.55Nm of torque. A 5-speed gearbox is paired with this engine. The kerb weight of 154kg is high by today’s standards but against competitors like Karizma, the 220F has always come out ace.
Bajaj will shortly introduce a 125cc Pulsar. The company has discontinued the 135LS and the 125cc comes in its place. While we expect it to have similar power as the current Discover 125, the model will have typical Pulsar 150 design cues. Bajaj hopes that this will attract more customers to the fold, thereby increasing sales. The Pulsar 125 will come with a combi-brake system and should be priced on-road at Rs 70,000 Delhi.
