Bajaj Auto has started its BS6 upgrade for the Pulsars. The Bajaj Pulsar 150 BS6 has been launched. The Bajaj Pulsar 150 BS6 price in India is Rs 94,956 for the single disc and Rs 3,800 more for the rear disc, ex-showroom. Sales have already started and the motorcycles have reached the dealerships as well.
Has the company added any new features to the Bajaj Pulsar 150 BS6?
Unfortunately not. The press release says feather touch start and we take that as one of the additions. The other one is that of a fuel injection system. This Fi, Bajaj claims is going to be easy to maintain as well. There is no change to the power figure of 14PS from the 149.5cc engine but it is made at a slightly higher 8,500rpm. At the same time, torque has gone down by 0.2Nm and is now 13.25Nm, made again at a higher 500 revolutions per minute. The gearbox is still a 5-speed unit. An Fi indicator too has been added to the meter console.
Unlike Honda, Bajaj hasn’t made too many changes to the bike. The styling remains the same and so do the colour schemes. The kerb weight has gone up by 4kg now. It stands at 148kg for the Bajaj Pulsar BS6 single disc and 2kg more for the rear disc unit. In this segment, only the Gixxer 150 is BS6 compliant at the moment. Honda is yet to fire it’s salvo in the 150cc BS6 segment.
Sarang Kanade, president – Motorcycles, said, “The introduction of these models continue the transition of our products to BS6 norms. Bajaj Auto has scaled up the range of BS6 compliant vehicles. You will see this range expand over the next few weeks. With the BS6 compliant Pulsar 150, we have ensured that it continues to deliver excellent performance while meeting the stringent BS6 standard.”
