Bajaj Auto has launched the new Platina 100KS in India. If you go to Bajaj’s website immediately after reading this news, you will be disappointed. That’s because while nearly its entire motorcycle range has been fortified with ABS/CBS, the website still carries the old specs. Back to the topic of discussion. The Bajaj Platina 100KS price in India is Rs 40,500, ex-Delhi. It is available for booking now while deliveries will begin in a few days.
What’s new in the Bajaj Platina 100KS?
Let’s talk about whats similar. The styling for one will remind you of the old Platina. The bright LED DRL stays and so does the colour palette. Truth be told, the Platina still looks fresh and one will not call it a decade old design. Now for the new bits. The 100cc engine was discontinued earlier from the Platina range but now it has been brought back. The 102cc engine boasts two-valve tech with DTS-i and produces 7.9PS of power and 8.34Nm. A 4-speed transmission is also provided. Bajaj claims a top speed of 90kmph from this motorcycle.
The Bajaj Platina 100KS, as the name suggests, doesn’t come with an electric starter. There are drum brakes at both ends and because of the new law requirements, these are linked via CBS. Moreover, the motorcycle weighs 110kg and gets a 11.5-litre fuel tank as well. Handling suspension duties are conventional forks at the front and a spring in spring unit at the rear. Bajaj harps on the Comfortec feature which is claimed to transmit 20 per cent less road shocks to the pillion.
Commenting on the introduction of the new variant, Sarang Kanade, president motorcycle business said “Platina is known for delivering supreme comfort along with great mileage to commuters. With the introduction of the Platina 100KS, we are now able to offer great value at an unbeatable price point.”
