Aprilia, after their ABS/CBS updates, has been quiet. However, the Storm 125 that was showcased at the ’18 Expo is now ready to be launched. Way before the official prices were out, leaked dealer presentations as well as sources revealed the price. The Aprilia Storm 125 price in India is Rs 65,000, ex-showroom Pune. Deliveries will start in a couple of days from now. There are two colour options available- red-black and yellow-black.
Aprilia Storm 125 details
The Storm 125 is the most affordable Aprilia on sale in India. To make the cut, the 14-inch alloys have been dumped and it’s place are 12-inchers. There is no disc brake in the front. Instead 150mm drums are used along with CBS. Instead of the twin setup for the headlights, there is a lone halogen unit doing duties now. A full fledged grab rail too has been added instead of the cut units. All these changes make the scooter around Rs 6,500 more affordable than the SR125.
What has been retained is the snazzy styling. The instrument console still is fully analogue and chunky block pattern Vee rubber too has been used. There is a telescopic front suspension while the rear is a monoshock. The 9.5PS/9.9Nm, 125cc, air-cooled engine is in the same state of tune as the SR125. Given that there isn’t any weight increase, performance could be a bit more sprightly. We will confirm this once we ride the scooter.
