New bits on the all-new Hyundai Santro
Everything here is new. The platform is from the older Grand i10 and the all-new Hyundai Santro measures 3,610 x 1,645 x 1,560mm in length, width and height respectively. Wheelbase of the new Santro is 2,400mm. The lower trims run on 13-inch wheels while the top models have 14-inchers. Interestingly, alloys are not even an option on the all-new Hyundai Santro.
Step into the cabin and you will be welcomed by wide opening doors. The regular Hyundai mix of beige and black is used. The steering wheel is a familiar unit from the Grand i10 and hosts Bluetooth as well as music controls. Hyundai has set up the meters to be on the conservative side with an analogue rev counter and speedometer. There is also the small MID that sits on the right side. The door pockets are big enough to house 1 litre bottles. However, the power window switches have been moved to the centre console, right near the gear lever.
The AC vents on the new Santro are reminiscent of the older car. However, the all-new Hyundai Santro also has rear AC vents. The 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system also hosts Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with navigation. One can open the boot of the car remotely. Speaking of which, the boot capacity is 235 litres.
