What’s new on the 2020 Hyundai Venue iMT?
The gearbox in the 2020 Hyundai Venue iMT is slightly different from the automatic transmissions offered by other manufacturers in the country. It does not have the clutch, but the driver needs to shift gears manually. This is a dual-purpose gearbox that provides the engagement of a manual along with the comfort of an automatic. The upcoming Kia Sonet also gets the same transmission setup. It is a 6-speed unit and Hyundai has confirmed it will work with a diesel or naturally aspirated set-up as well.
The base variant of the Sport trim with turbo petrol engine mated to iMT gearbox starts at a price of Rs 10.20 lakh and it goes up to Rs 11.21 lakh. The new variant will come in the SX+ trim level turbo petrol and DCT gearbox options and it is priced at Rs 11.58 lakh. As for the diesel manual, the Sport SX trim, it costs Rs 10.30 lakh while the SX(O) is for Rs 11.52 lakh.
This variant boasts features like dual-tone paint, Sport emblem, red brake callipers, gloss finished grille with red inserts, grey bumper garnish, grey roof rail with red accents and red inserts on wheel arches and side moulding. The interior features include metal finished pedals, steering with red stitching, paddle shifters for the DCT gearbox and grey upholstery with red accents.
The 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine develops a good 120PS of power and 172Nm of torque. As for the 1.5-litre diesel engine, it puts out 100PS of power and 250Nm of torque. The diesel engine is available with a 6-speed manual gearbox for the Sport trim. The iMT gearbox is the third transmission option offered for the Venue. The standard Venue petrol starts at a price of Rs 8.46 lakh, ex-showroom.
