The 2020 Hyundai Tucson has been launched in India. This is the third-gen model and is a facelift of the 2016 model that on sale in India till April 2020. Hyundai showed us this car at the Auto Expo 2020. Now, a total of five variants of the updated Tucson has been launched. These are the GL (O), GLS and GLS 4WD. The 2020 Hyundai Tucson price in India starts from Rs 22.30 lakh and goes up to Rs 27.03 lakh, ex-showroom. Compared to the older car, the new Hyundai Tucson is costlier for the base variant by Rs 4 lakh while the top ones are expensive by Rs 50,000. Bookings of the SUV had started a while ago while the deliveries are set to begin by August. Hyundai offers the car in petrol and diesel engines.
What’s new in the 2020 Hyundai Tucson?
A lot actually. This seems like an all-new car. It has got a new grille, penta-LED headlamps, LED fog lamps as tail lamps. A new set of 18-inch alloys are on offer. For the petrol model, the spare wheel is a full size while for the diesel, it is one size smaller. The cabin gets dark leather upholstery while the infotainment system is now 8.0-inch in dimension. It also brings along with it Hyundai’s connected car technology called BlueLink. Top variants also get wireless charging. The fronts seats of this 5-seater are electrically adjustable.
There is dual-zone climate control with rear AC vents. Hyundai also has a powered tailgate on offer as well as a panoramic sunroof. There is cruise control, six airbags and other safety aids. Engine wise, the Hyundai Tucson gets a 2.0-litre petrol engine that is shared with the Elantra and makes 152PS of power and 194Nm of torque. A 6-speed automatic can be paired with this engine. The diesel too displaces 2,000cc and makes 185PS of power and 400Nm. It can be exclusively availed with a 8-speed automatic transmission and optional AWD.
A three-year/unlimited kilometre warranty is offered with the 2020 Hyundai Tucson. Since this is a premium offering, Hyundai offers three free services which can also be done at the customer’s place. The new Hyundai Tucson competes with the Jeep Compass, Volkswagen T-Roc and Skoda Karoq.
