Toyota Kirloskar Motor has launched the new Camry hybrid in India. The 2019 Toyota Camry hybrid price in India is Rs 36.95 lakh, ex-showroom. This price is introductory and is likely to increase after sometime. The Toyota Camry hybrid colours in India include Platinum White Pearl, Graphite Metallic, Red Mica and Burning Black. Bookings have already begun while deliveries will start only after a month.
What’s new in the 2019 Toyota Camry hybrid?
The 2019 Toyota Camry hybrid has a fresh new aggressive styling. Darkness sensing LED projector headlights, follow-me home function, self levelling lights, LED fog lights, LED rear lights with fog lights, 18-inch alloys and more available with the new Camry. Inside, there is beige leather upholstery, tri-zone climate control, sunroof, easy access on passenger seat, rear power sunshade with manual units on the sides and more. The Camry is more about rear seat comfort and hence the passengers get vehicle infotainment controls on the rear armrest. The rear seats can also be reclined for additional comfort.
Cruise control, head-up display, memory powered front seats, wireless smartphone charger and push button start are also available with the 2019 Toyota Camry hybrid.
Any changes in the 2019 Toyota Camry hybrid engine?
Yes, this is an all-new platform and is the eight generation car. Toyota says that this is a fourth generation hybrid system and brings in Nickel-Hydride batteries. The updated 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine is coupled to this battery system and produces a combined output of 210PS. Toyota has paired this engine with an e-CVT system. The claimed fuel efficiency of the 2019 Toyota Camry hybrid is 23.29kmpl.
As far as safety features are concerned, the Camry gets nine airbags, ABS with EBD, Brake Hold Assist, Vehicle Stability Control and traction control. The 2019 Toyota Camry hybrid competes with the Honda Accord hybrid as well as the Skoda Superb.
