2019 BMW Z4 roadster revealed through patent diagrams

BMW’s Z4 has long being removed from the company’s production lines as well as showrooms. The very capable roadster found many fans in the Bollywood film industry as well as with the well heeled. Now, it seems like the next-gen roadster is close to its debut as is evident from this leaked patent images. The concept vehicle was showcased in 2017 at Pebble Beach. From the patent images, it is easy to glean that the new BMW Z4 retains most of the design elements from the concept car.

That long hood ends in the relatively smaller yet wider twin kidney grille. The airdam looks aggressive though. There is also the larger airscoop behind the front fender, something that will have a functional ability in cooling the disc brakes as well as bring in better aerodynamic efficiency.  At the rear, the lid is small enough, might also be the same proportions as the previous car. A soft fabric rooftop is also visible in these diagrams.

What the diagrams don’t reveal but are mere speculations are there will be a flat-six petrol engine that will boast 335PS as well as 390PS. BMW says that there will also be the M trim that could bring in a 400PS+ power configuration. All the engines will b mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. BMW India will bring in the Z4 roadster sometime next year and with an expected price tag of Rs 60 lakh.
