Triumph India has launched the 2018 Tiger 1200 XcX at Rs 17 lakh, ex-showroom, pan-India. The motorcycle is Triumph’s flagship off-road adventure vehicle and is available only in the top-spec trim. Triumph has also removed the ‘Explorer’ tag from the motorcycle. It takes on the BMW R1200 GS Adventure (Rs 17.10 lakh) and the Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro (Rs 17.99 lakh).
Triumph claims that the MY 2018 1200 has over 100 new features. These include a 10kg lighter overall weight, all-new LED lights, cornering pilot lamps, new off-road Pro riding mode, slipper clutch for both up as well as down shifts, keyless ignition, electronically adjustable fly screen, illumination for the switches and a new cruise control system. The heart of the Triumph Tiger 1200 XcX is a 3-cylinder 1215cc engine that churns out 143PS and 122Nm. The engine is paired to a 6-speed transmission. To make the ride more engaging, Triumph has added a semi-active suspension that ensures that the riders don;t need to worry about the terrain they take the motorcycle to. Adding to the confidence is cornering ABS as well as Metzeler tyres.
