Suzuki seems to be on a product offensive these days. The Japanese motorcycle maker has launched the Gixxer and Gixxer SF SP trims for the model year 2018 in India. Prices for the Suzuki Gixxer SP and Gixxer SF SP are Rs 87,250 and Rs 1,00,630, ex-Delhi. Both these trims sit on top of their respective ranges and priced Rs 6,000 and Rs 7,000 over their corresponding regular trims. Suzuki offers the Gixxer with a rear drum brake, disc brake and ABS options whereas the SF comes with carburettor, fuel injected and ABS trims. The latter is available only with the fuel injected versions.
Both the Suzuki Gixxer SP trims come with front wheel ABS, refreshed graphics on the fuel tank and body panels, SP emblem on the tank and in a unique gold and black body paint. There however, is no change in the mechanicals. The Suzuki Gixxer SP and Gixxer SF SP are powered by a 155cc single cylinder air cooled engine that makes 14.8PS of power and 14Nm of torque. While the Gixxer is still available with a carburettor, the SF here comes with fuel injection. A 5-speed gearbox transfers power to the rear wheel.
Both these motorcycles have been the mainstay of the Japanese company and have helped make it profits. The Suzuki Access 125 is also the highest sold 125cc scooter in its segment. Suzuki is all set to launch the Burgman Street 125, a maxi scooter that uses the Access’ powertrain but in a bigger body. The launch happens on July 19, 2018.
