The 2018 Renault Kwid has been launched in India at Rs 2.66 lakh – Rs 4.59 lakh, ex-Delhi. The prices of the 2018 Renault Kwid are virtually unchanged from the outgoing car. There are eight trims on offer with two engine options. This is the first time the Renault Kwid has received a facelift since launch in 2015.
The 2018 Renault Kwid gets an updated grille design along with chrome elements for the top versions. The mid as well as top end trims of the 2018 Renault Kwid get fog lights, wheel caps and body coloured bumpers. Inside the cabin, there is the rear emergency locking retractor which has been made standard on all variants. There is also the rear camera on Climber and RXT (O) trims. On the latter, Renault is now offering 12V socket at the rear as well as chrome near the gear lever. The Renault Kwid Climber also gets a rear arm rest. In terms of additional features, the RXL gets remote locking and a front power window.

Renault offers the Kwid with two petrol engine options – a 54PS/72Nm 0.8-litre 3-cylinder and a 68PS/91Nm 1.0-litre 3-cylinder. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard while an AMT is optional on the latter engine. Both claim around 20kmpl fuel efficiency.
Renault offers a 7-inch touchscreen music system with the Kwid. This is also shared with the Renault Duster. It also comes with a navigation system as well as Bluetooth telephony. In terms of safety, top trims come with a driver airbag. Renault offers a warranty of 4 years/1 lakh km along with roadside assistance. Customers can choose from six colour options – Planet Grey, Fiery Red, Moonlight Silve , Outback Bronze, Ice Cool White and Electric Blue exclusively for the Kwid Climber.
Renault first showcased an outrageous Kwid concept at the 2014 Auto Expo and in 2015, launched the production spec. A bigger 1.0-litre motor as well as AMT were introduced a year later. The Renault Kwid competes with the upcoming Hyundai Santro and the Maruti Suzuki Alto.
