Maruti Suzuki India Limited launched the third generation all-new Swift on February 4, 2018. Since that time, the car maker has sold more than a lakh units till date. This is the fastest ever number clocked by any manufacturer till date in India. The current-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift has a waiting period of a month as of now while the first-gen Swift had a seven month waiting period within 3-4 months after launch. So far, the company, since the introduction of the first Swift in 2005 has sold nearly 1.9 million units in India. Maruti’s 20 millionth vehicle was also the Swift. Maruti has priced the new Swift between Rs 4.99 lakh – Rs 8.29 lakh, ex-Mumbai.
The company offers the new Swift with both petrol and diesel engines. While the engines have been carried over from the previous car and make 85PS and 74PS respectively, the talking point is the introduction of AGS or Automatic Gear Shift for both. Maruti is the only manufacturer to offer an automatic for both their petrol and diesel engines in this segment. It has increased the convenience factor for the buying populace. Dual airbags as well as ABS are standard across range too.
