Yamaha India has been on a roll. It has updated nearly the entire line-up of motorcycles this year with upgraded tech as well as more features. The name Darknight seems to have caught Yamaha’s fancy off late. Earlier, the R15 was launched with this colour and now is the turn of the Fascino. The Yamaha Fascino Darknight edition price in India is Rs 56,793, ex-showroom, Delhi. This price is Rs 2,500 over that of the regular Fascinos.
Apart from the colour, are there any other changes in the Yamaha Fascino Darknight?
First up, the colour looks smashing on the Fascino. There is a new USB charger added to the mix while a maintenance free battery too is part of the deal. However, these changes were already incorporated in the Yamaha scooter range sometime ago. The Fascino also comes with Unified Braking System or UBS that brings the front brake into play while the rear one is engaged. The front brake is applied only with 40 per cent force thereby enabling safer panic stops for newbies. The brakes, by the way, are drum units at the front and back.
There is no change in the 113cc, 4-stroke, BS-IV, air-cooled engine. This motor produces 7.2PS and 8.1Nm of torque. It is mated to a variomatic transmission. Yamaha claims a fuel efficiency of 55kmpl thereabouts. There are 10-inch steel wheels on both ends with tubeless rubber on them. The scooter has a analogue instrument cluster.
Motofumi Shitara, chairman, Yamaha Motor India group of companies said on the occasion, “Yamaha is committed to establish its uniqueness through exciting, stylish and sporty products and experiences. Yamaha Fascino has already gone up and about its unique style and excitement in the market. The new DARKNIGHT edition will further create an urbane style which is in line with Yamaha’s efforts to add DARKNIGHT editions in many other two wheelers.”
