It’s been barely 15 days since Volvo India launched the XC40 R Design and now news has come that the SUV has garnered more than 200 bookings. The Volvo XC40 R Design was available at an introductory pricing of Rs 39.9 lakh and now Volvo India has removed the offer. There are two more trims of the Volvo XC40 being introduced. These include the XC40 Momentum (Rs 39.9 lakh) and the XC40 Inscription (Rs 43.9 lakh). The R Design is now priced at Rs 42.9 lakh. All these prices are ex-showroom Delhi. Deliveries of the SUV have already started as well.
Volvo India says that even the base Momentum trim of the XC40 is pretty loaded when compared to the competition. The features list includes powered front seats with memory function for the driver, leather upholstery, sunroof, all-wheel drive and rear parking camera. The Momentum builds up on the features of the R-Design by offering extra body kit and powered rear headrests.
All the three trims of the Volvo XC40 are powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine that is good for 190PS of power and 400Nm of torque. An 8-speed automatic transmission sends power to the front wheels. The Volvo XC40 goes up against the Mercedes-Benz GLA, BMW X1 and Audi Q3.
