Those of you planning to book the Gixxer SF150, hold on to your plans. There is a facelifted model coming soon. Styled just like the upcoming 250, the Suzuki Gixxer SF150 facelift looks quite cool. This is the first time that the model has got a facelift. We expect that the Suzuki Gixxer 150 too will get an update. So, the May 20 event will have three launches in all. Let’s see what has changed in the Suzuki Gixxer SF150 facelift at the moment.
Suzuki Gixxer SF150 facelift specifics
The SF150 facelift will, as discussed earlier, get the same styling bits as the 250. This means a more sleeker design. This includes a complement of full LED headlights, split seats, clip-on handlebars, a new black colour scheme, revised instrument cluster, rear tyre hugger and a more beefier fuel tank. All these revisions, we believe will bump up the price quotient. Expect the 2019 Suzuki Gixxer SF150 price in India to start from Rs 1.12 lakh, ex-Delhi.
Needless to say, the good bits like the smooth and refined engine as well as 5-speed transmission will be carried over. We believe the engine in its BS-IV configuration will still make 14.5PS/14Nm.
The Gixxer’s mechanical parts too have been retained. This includes a pair of conventional forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. There will be disc brakes on both ends with single channel ABS being offered as well.
Competition to the Gixxer SF150 facelift will come from the fresh Hero Xtreme 200S. Yamaha has discontinued the Fazer 150 for the time being, something which is confirmed both from the model’s absence from the website and at dealerships. A facelifted version though should be coming out soon. It will also have single channel ABS to keep costs in check.
