Nissan India has launched a base Kicks XE diesel trim. This Nissan Kicks XE diesel trim price in India is Rs 9.89 lakh, ex-Delhi. Nissan has done this to entice customers who previously were going after the Creta. Previously, the Kicks diesel range started from the Rs 10.85 lakh XL trim. This base trim introduction is going to help the company move more units of this promising compact SUV. Nissan says that it was customer feedback that prompted them to take this step. Currently, the Kicks diesel portfolio starts from the XE, moves on to the XL, the XV and XV Pre.
What all is standard in the Nissan Kicks XE diesel trim?
With the introduction of the XE diesel trim, Nissan has also taken the opportunity to add more features to the other versions. For the XE diesel, auto AC, rear AC vents, cooled glove box with illumination, 2-DIN audio system along with Bluetooth/USB connectivity as well as four speakers and the Nissan Connect app. Not only this, the other trims like the XL, XV and XV Pre too have got additional features like 17-inch alloys and more. The XV diesel is powered by a 110PS/240Nm, 1.5-litre engine that is good for 20.45kmpl fuel efficiency. There is also a petrol engine that has a 1.5-litre configuration, makes 106PS and lays claim to a fuel efficiency of 14.23kmpl. Unfortunately, an automatic transmission isn’t on offer on any of the engines.
With the advent of the competition, the Kicks which looks more like a jacked up hatchback than proper SUV has had it tough. Nowadays, manufacturers tend to make their vehicles larger and this in turn attracts buyers. These buyers think they get the maximum value for money with the so-called big cars. However, the Kicks is a spacious vehicle and one shouldn’t be fooled by its dimensions.
