Hero Motocorp launched a new fully faired motorcycle in India. The Hero Xtreme 200S price in India is Rs 98,500, ex-showroom Delhi. This new motorcycle will go on sale by end of this month. Bookings have already started. The pricing puts it’s below the Xpulse 200’s Fi trim.
Is the Xtreme 200S the one that was spotted recently?
Yes, it is. While we thought it will be the Karizma 250 with a 4-valve engine, it isn’t. It borrows the same 200cc, air-cooled engine from the Xtreme 200R. It also makes the same 18.4PS/17.1NM and at identical rpms. Hero though has altered the gearing and also increased the rear sprocket tooth by 1.
The gearbox is still a 5-speed unit. Hero says that they have focused more on ride ability and performance off the hook will be good. Top speed isn’t something that they were targeting. The extra added weight has been negated with initial oomph.
In terms of changes, there are less. The front suspension has been finetuned a bit. The rear still is a preload adjustable monoshock. Other cycle parts remain the same though. We like the all-LED headlights though. Like the Xpulse twins, this one also gets an all-digital instrument cluster that has turn-by-turn navigation. This pairs with the phone’s Bluetooth system.
