After the Ford Figo Blu edition was introduced a couple of months back, Ford India has done the same with the Aspire. The Ford Aspire Blu edition price in India is Rs 7.40 lakh for the petrol and Rs 8.21 lakh for the diesel, ex-Delhi. These prices are around Rs 26,000 more than the corresponding Titanium trims on which the Blu is based on. It may be noted that the Ford Aspire Blu edition isn’t the top dog and there is the Titanium+ trim that claims that honor. Bookings and deliveries have already started.
What’s new in the Ford Aspire Blu edition
Just like the Figo, the Aspire Blu edition also comes with a blacked out grille, blue outlined fog lights, black finish alloys, blue tinges to the cabin and embedded satellite navigation. Ford also offers a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system but this doesn’t have Android Auto or Apple CarPlay.
There are no changes to the engine department. The Ford Aspire Blu is available with the manual transmission only. This means a 1.2-litre 96PS naturally aspirated petrol and a 100PS, 1.5-litre diesel. Both the engines are mated to a 5-speed manual. In terms of safety equipment, Ford offers dual airbags, ABS with EBD and seat belts for all five occupants. A five year warranty or one lakh km warranty is on offer too. This though is a two year traditional warranty coupled with a three year extended unit.
We’ve reviewed the facelifted Aspire and found it to be a very competent car. Not only this, the Aspire now has all the modern gadgets that one will ever want. The top spec trim too has six airbags. Ford also offers an automatic option with a bigger 1.5-litre petrol engine. That however is currently made-to-order and can take up to three months for delivery. For the economy conscious, the 1.2 petrol is also offered with a factory-fitted CNG option. The Aspire competes with the Dzire, Tigor, Xcent, Amaze and Ameo.
