Bajaj Auto has just announced that it will be conducting free service camps in flood affected areas in India. These service camps are only for Bajaj motorcycles and start from Aug 19 to Sept 7, 2019. The camps will be conducted at Bajaj motorcycle dealership locations in the flood impacted towns of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat and Kerala.
Bajaj motorcycle owners can reach out to their nearest authorized with the flood affected bikes. The dealerships will conduct a thorough check-up followed by engine flushing in case of water ingress into the engine. These services will be provided for free and the dealership will not charge for the cost of check-up, oil change and the cost of parts. The latter includes engine oil, oil filter, air filter and gaskets. Pistons and all will be chargeable though. It is advisable to contact the service centre beforehand and fix an appointment.
To ensure timely repairs the company has moved required spare parts as well as additional technicians from Bajaj dealerships in neighboring states. Bajaj dealerships shall also advice motorcycle owners in the preparation of insurance claim documents in case of major repairs due to water ingress in the engine.
In other news, Bajaj Auto has just launched the new Pulsar 125. This motorcycle borrows traits from its bigger siblings including the styling as well as backlit switches. It also has a 12PS/11Nm, twin spark plug-ed 125cc engine that is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The Pulsar 125 comes with drum brakes as standard but one can also option a front disc. There is also CBS to keep things in check. The price starts from Rs 64,000 and goes to 66,000 for the disc unit. The Bajaj Pulsar 125 competes with the Honda CB Shine SP as well as the Hero Glamour. It remains to be seen how successful Bajaj will be with its pricing as well as brand.
