We aren’t sure what’s happening at Tata Motors. Day in and day out, new versions of the Nexon are either spotted testing or unofficially launched. This time around, it seems to be a case of the former. The 2020 Tata Nexon has been spotted in India and there are clearly new things that are visible. For example, the headlight as well as grille design signal towards the Harrier’s Impact Design 2.0 theme. The headlights have a stronger appeal than the rounded one of the current vehicle. Not only this, the grille won’t have the smiley from the current car. There are new bumpers to help with the upcoming pedestrian protection norms.
While there are no images of the side or back, we expect the 2020 Tata Nexon to have a new set of alloy wheels. A slightly different shape for the tail section can be expected too.
Any engine changes in the 2020 Tata Nexon?
There will be BS-VI compliant petrol and diesel engines. These will be the same units that do duty in the current car. To give a recap, the 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder petrol unit will make 110PS/170Nm while the 4-cylinder diesel makes 110PS/260Nm. The choice of transmission will be a 6-speed manual or AMT. An electric as well as JTP version of the Nexon is in the works too.
The Nexon will continue with its 209mm ground clearance as well as other things. The interior features might see a slight revision given the new things the competition offers. Moreover, the Nexon’s cabin is a bit dated now and needs an update. Tata Motors will continue with the value-for-money proposition that the Nexon is known for. Expect the new Nexon launch at the Auto Expo 2020 or just after it.
